Saturday 10  th   October 2015    SWTVC   ST.CYPRIAN’ S AUTOJUMBLE St Cyprian’s church hall was lined with tables groaning with all shapes and sizes of discarded car related unwanted bits and pieces, manuals etc as well as larger items including a good looking bike and a pressure washer (which were snapped up !) It was well attended and people left clutching various odd shaped bits of metal which they had been delighted to acquire ( most a mystery to me !!) Charlotte Gordon persuaded the visitors to buy tombola tickets – prizes were mainly alcoholic !!
I am ashamed/delighted to say that I won the main prize – a litre of Prosecco which I hid under my jacket then dashed to put it in mycar !!! ( didn’t want to be accused of cheating!! )
The ladies of St Cyprians provided a steady flow of bacon and sausage rolls as well as tea and coffee from 10am till about 12.30pm !! I believe they sold about 80 rolls in total!!
All in all a successful event, with trading and socialising in roughly equal amounts. It was good to see  Jack Bradley again, joining in the banter with the other stallholders and club members.
There were some interesting cars outside, too.
Thanks to the Rector of St.Cyprian’s, Les Ireland,  the St Cyprian’s ladies, the stallholders, the members of the Grenock Car Club and all the people who attended.
Liz Young- additional material Jacqui & Ian Stother.
